Visser’s Gearbox

April 23, 2010 by ProMotor

Will the Pirtek team of Visser du Plessis and Gerhard Snyman survive the Sasol rally??Apparently they suffered from a broken gearbox in yesterday’s test stage. The box has been repaired…but will it last?

It is time after all the years of trying that Visser gets to play for results than pray for them. There is always and excuse, and he goes out of his way to let everyone know, it’s his car not him, just in case he does not finish. A bad workman always blames his tools.

Hein Lategan seems to get it right, without bitching. I rest my case.

The answer is no……same problem recurred in 120 m form where it initially broke in the shakedown stage which was a part of special stage 5 and 12. Thanks must go to Volkswagen for the replacement shaft, but without the assistance of the staff at Mountain View Motors- Sabie, who provided the facilities to “remanufacture” the shaft supplied by Volkswagen, Visser would not have been on the start line of the SASOL 2010 Rally.

Main input drive shaft sheared off. Team PIRTEK now needs to ascertain the cause of these two failures.

    A comment from Visser.

“Dan, I fully understand what you say, and you are right.

Just remember I answer questions and it gets published. It does not mean I use it as an excuse. I have the right to be frustrated when
    something continues to break though.

I will try to impress you on the next one.”

    Thanks Visser,

Man i get frustrated with your bad luck just as much as you do.

I hope your luck changes. You deserve better. At the moment it seems that if it was not for bad luck, you won’t have any luck.

    Ek hou duim vas.

    Groete,
    DAN
